The Clinical Laboratory at RLH is catering for all clinics of ALP. It is equipped with the latest equipment, has well trained, qualified and skilled staff.
It is specialized in slit skin smears for leprosy and CL diagnostic and TB diagnostic (sputum smear microscopy and GeneXpert). Under the supervision of consultant doctors the lab applies stringent quality control checks in line with guidelines from the regulatory body governing the operations of clinical laboratories which is the Punjab Health Care Commission. The laboratory is immediately reporting results of urgent cases (e.g. Emergency and critical patients of wards) Immediate reporting of critical values to the consulting doctors is established. There is regular interaction with the treating physicians.
