In the Primary Eye Care Programme we are doing screening in the communities for eye diseases and are running 81 primary eye care clinics at basic health units and 6 refraction centres at Rural Health Centres. Another important component is an established referral system for high-quality low-cost cataract surgeries in accessible hospitals.
